  Celebrities  -  Male-Celebrities - Woody-Allen

Woody-Allen profile

Woody-Allen

Name: Woody Allen

Birth Name: Allen Stewart Konigsberg

Birthdate: Dec. 1, 1935

Birthplace: Brooklyn, NY
1-MINUTE RESUME FOR WOODY ALLEN

Allen's interest in movies was sparked when he saw Snow White at age 3. He started out writing gags and one-liners for celebrities and gossip columnists and enrolled in motion picture production at New York University. In the early '60s he performed standup, and eventually went into screenwriting and directing. His career has been tremendous and prolific, but he fell out of favor with audiences in the late '90s when he married girlfriend Mia Farrow's adopted daughter, the much-younger Soon-Yi Previn. As for his work, his awards speak for themselves.

5 Things:

1. Made 13 movies with longtime companion Mia Farrow, 8 with his other longtime companion, Diane Keaton
2. Loves jazz
3. Married Soon-Yi Previn, his adopted daughter with Mia Farrow
4. Refuses to watch any of his movies once released
5. Doesn't attend the Oscars, though he has more nominations for writing (13) than anyone
