After a successful career on the British stage and screen, Daniel Craig
crossed the Atlantic and accumulated supporting roles in
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and
Road to Perdition and a starring role in Steven Spielberg's Oscar-nominated
Munich. You could say he was the opposite of famous when, in 2005, he was cast as the sixth 007 in
Casino Royale.
This stirred much controversy among James Bond fans, many of whom
vehemently disagreed with the decision to cast the blonde actor.
Although the court of public opinion may be out on whether Craig is
good for the role, he signed a three-picture deal to play Bond.
